Senior Business Development Manager - Large Industries Position Summary Lead the development of Large Industries projects. Manage the commercial relationships with assigned Large Industries customers. Report to a Ll VP EE Cluster Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities Lead the development of Large Industries projects for all LI products: Air Gases, HyCO, Energy • Identify and/or generate new business opportunities, assessing customers' real needs and requirements • Perform preliminary project economics and feasibility studies (utilizing existing employee's resources) • Identify all synergies to be considered in the project • Lead the project development process, driving and animating the project development team • Drive for the development of creative and sound technical and operational solutions • Evaluate competitive solutions • Respect Large Industries golden rules and requirements • Prepare project economics and Executive Summaries • Present projects to senior management/committees for selection, review and approval • Prepare and present proposals that meet customer expectations and business objectives • Write contracts and lead negotiations with the customer through closing • Where appropriate, lead negotiations for key raw materials, e.g. crude hydrogen Perimeter of Action for the development of Large Industries projects • Lead a meeting with a customer or potential customer only after completion of the LI Commercial Training • Present project to the Project Review Committee only after completion of the LI Commercial Training • Be fully accountable for project development for “complex” LI рrоjects only with permission confirmed by LI VP • Autonomously lead presentation of Proposals with Customers for “complex” LI projects only with permission confirmed by LI VP • Autonomously lead the contractual negotiation with Customers for “complex” Ll projects only with permission confirmed by LI VP Other Responsibilities and Accountabilities In certain cases, Country management may also assign the Business Developer to manage assigned customer accounts and administer contracts • Identify business opportunities within the assigned area/perimeter • Develop and maintain trustful personal relationships with assigned customers • Manage the relationship and the assigned customers • Administer existing contracts insure the full application of all clauses and constantly work to maximize contracts' profitability • Grow the industrial gas business within assigned accounts • Renegotiate and extend contracts • Report regularly on the sales of assigned accounts Other tasks • Gather and maintain critical information (capacity, growth, competition...) of LI markets • Assist in the development of strategies to achieve short/ long term objectives Minimum business development skill set • Has reached a good knowledge of Large Industries customers' markets and processes, Ll products and technologies, and of the LI business model • Has cumulated 3 to 5 years of experience in Business Development positions • Has successfully accomplished the development of an entire Ll project up to contract signature • Has demonstrated to be autonomous in the lead of the development of simple Large Industries project General Skill Set / Knowledge / Expertise • Minimum of 5 years experience in Sales and BD • Fluent in English and in the local language (French skills useful) • Engineering Degree (or equivalent) highly recommended • MBA (or equivalent) recommended • Strong intellectual skills: analytic capabilities, long term vision, willingness to overcome obstacles, ability to remain focus and achieve goals, verbal and written communication • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with people, develop trustful personal relationships, negotiate and obtain results by influencing others, interface in a diplomatic manner with a broad range of people Will develop an in-depth knowledge of gas industry, custom processes, products and applications, LI business model, contract model, risks embodied in Ll deals, Ll project development process, golden rule and requirements (especially the Executive Summary and the canonical Appendix)
